rear 1 means: one piston of this type for the rear wheel
front+rear 3 means: the same pistons for front and rear brakes, 3 together of this type.

If You are not sure if the pistons fit on Your bike, check the very good cmsnl.com online catalogue. They can also supply all the other stuff which I don't have.
These pistons are machined to the exact dimensions and surface finish of the original Honda part, but are manufactured out of stainless steel that is highly resistant to corrosion or oxidation. The original piston that Honda supplied was machined from cast iron with a thin plating of chrome. With the Honda-made piston, You will get corrosion on the piston in a short period of time, which leads to brake fluid leaking past the sealing ring. This will lead to caliper binding and the need to rebuild your brake caliper. My pistons do not deteriorate from contact with the moisture that sooner or later gets into Your hydraulic brake system. They are designed for a lifetime of use and will never corrode or pit even if your bike sits for an extended period of time. Best would be the combined use of these pistons and silicone brake fluid (DOT5) as used by the US army. But any other brake fluid will do as well.
Please remember, the price is for ONE (1) stainless piston! These pistons fit only the motorcycles listed above. Please don't ask me "Does one of Your pistons fit on my 1977 Suzuki...?", I don't know it. All the known bikes I have pistons for are listed and I don't have other pistons than these. But if You know (for sure) that one of my products also fits on a bike which is not listed, feel free to email me anytime, as it helps to improve the offer for other bikers. For a complete rebuild of Your brake system (recommended) You may need more than one piston.
The pistons are made in Germany using the latest computerized CNC technology lathe machines.
